Une architecture adaptée à l’évolution des besoins... Ce projet s’inscrit dans une opération progressive de restructuration d’un établissement médico-social destiné à l’accueil de personnes adultes présentant une déficience intellectuelle. Situé au cœur d’un quartier historique de Villeneuve d’Ascq, le site bénéficie d’un cadre arboré et comprend quatre bâtiments principaux.

L’opération se déroule par tranches successives, en site occupé, avec un effectif constant de 85 lits, dont 26 lits en section médicalisée. Première étape de cette transformation, le pavillon du Béguinage, livré en 2018, comprend deux appartements de treize chambres chacun. Il vise à améliorer les conditions de vie des résidents vieillissants tout en préservant l’esprit de vie collective.

L’association Les Lauriers a exprimé une volonté forte de créer un cadre de vie favorisant le bien-être et la santé, grâce à des choix architecturaux à haute performance environnementale et énergétique. Cette démarche incarne également les valeurs humaines et sociétales portées par l’association. Le projet repose sur une construction intégralement en ossature bois, avec une isolation biosourcée : des fibres de bois insufflées dans les murs. Les panneaux en bois lamellé-collé laissés apparents dans les chambres participent à une ambiance intérieure chaleureuse et apaisante. Conçu selon les standards du bâtiment passif, le pavillon combine sobriété énergétique et qualité de lumière naturelle, au service du confort et de la sérénité des résidents.

An architecture adapted to evolving needs...This project is part of a progressive restructuring of a medico-social facility dedicated to the care of adults with intellectual disabilities. Located in the heart of a historic district of Villeneuve d’Ascq, the site benefits from a wooded setting and comprises four main buildings.

The operation is carried out in successive phases, on an occupied site, maintaining a constant capacity of 85 beds, including 26 beds in a medical care unit. The first phase of this transformation, the Béguinage pavilion, delivered in 2018, includes two apartments with thirteen bedrooms each. It aims to improve the living conditions of aging residents while preserving the spirit of collective living.

‍The association Les Lauriers strongly expressed the desire to create a living environment that promotes well-being and health, through architectural choices focused on high environmental and energy performance. This approach also reflects the human and social values upheld by the association. The project is based on a fully timber-frame construction, insulated with bio-based materials: wood fibers blown into the walls. Cross-laminated timber panels left exposed in the bedrooms contribute to a warm and calming interior atmosphere. Designed according to passive building standards, the pavilion combines energy sobriety with quality natural lighting, serving the comfort and serenity of the residents.
